Manufacturing Company Recognised In National Awards

A Shropshire-based firm, a manufacturer of special fasteners and precision components and standard fasteners distributor, have been recognised in a national business awards.

Multi-award winning GWR Fasteners Limited, has been named as a Finalist in the British Engineering Excellence Awards 2015 in the Small Company of the Year category. The awards aim to demonstrate and promote the quality of engineering design within the UK; to emphasise innovation and effectiveness in order to allow smaller companies to compete on an equal footing with larger ones; to act as an incentive to the designed engineering industry to create world-class businesses; to provide a benchmark of excellence from which the industry can learn and from which it can build; and to demonstrate the power of engineering design innovation within the UK and the world.

During the past six years of the British Engineering Excellence Awards, they have seen winning entries ranging in size from chip designs to pipe laying systems with the Grand Prix, the best of the best. The awards are there to celebrate the breadth of the UK's engineering capability.

Phil Mayo, Chairman of the Judging Panel and MD of Premier EDA Solutions said “Once again the calibre of entries for this year's awards has been exceptionally high and the judges have found it difficult to agree on the shortlist. The strength of the shortlisted entries demonstrates all that is great about British design engineering.”

The winners will be announced at a gala lunch at the Hurlingham Club in London on the 29th October.
